APRIL AND MAY
The most important hatches are Baetis and Stone flies. The main Salmon Fly hatch usually happens around May 15th. Favorite patterns are: DRYS: Parachute Adams size# 14 and Olive Stimulator and Skwalla size # 12s ,Orange Stimulator and Henrys Fork Salmon fly size #4 - # 8 WETS: Black and Brown Yuk bugs, Black and Brown Buggers size # 4 and # 6,Black Kaufmann stone size # 4 and # 6 Prince nymph size # 8 - # 14.
JUNE THRU AUGUST
The most important hatches are: Golden Stone's, Brown Drakes, Caddis and PMD's. Favorite patterns are: Stimulator size # 8 - # 14, Brown Drake size # 10, Elk Hair Caddis size # 12 - # 16 PMD in size # 14 and # 16. WETS; Black and Brown Yuks and Black and Brown Buggers size # 4 - # 6 Bead Head Prince Nymphs # 8 - # 16 Bead Head Hare's Ear Tan and Olive size: # 12 - # 16 Bead Head Pheasant Tails nymphs size # 12 - # 16.
SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER
Hoppers , October Caddis and Beatis are the most important hatches at this time. DRYS; Parachute Hoppers, Madam X and Elk Hair hoppers size #8 - #12, October Caddis size #10 - #12, Parachute Beatis and Royal Wulffs, #12 - #14. Favorite Streamers include Brown Krystal Buggers, Electric Buggers and JJ Specials size #4 - #6. |
